Nasaman…..This is not the 1960s and you are not buying a Volvo to drive around Europe and ship home. Buy your Accuphase from a U.S. dealer and enjoy your trip. You have enough $ to take your family to Japan, buy here and avoid all tge moving parts the purchase in Japan would create..Simplify!

What are some popular cables brands in Japan? That will cut some weights.

I want to try some power cords from Japan.

chrisoshea, why do you suggest that? I tried to buy accu from us dealers, here is a summary: 1) even at price of almost two units from JP, no stock, waiting time for unit to arrive is is more than month, in some cases 3+ months  2) warranty is not much different comparing to e.g. audiocubes 3) price is almost double of importing from JP 4) fixing after warranty cost is huge, not guaranteed.. local good techs can handle 90% of issues at much lower price 

Hijiri cables and power cords, perhaps. I am not familiar with them but I remember someone recommended them if I wanted to try something different from what I had. There is a thread here about these cables. Expensive stuff but you are after Accuphase 600 so you may need just one power cord and maybe one pair of interconnects.
