Any ladies in the audience?

You may want to ask Angie from American Sound in Ontario Canada.  She has a store that sells very high-end components and speakers - brands that'll make your head spin! She's been in the business for decades and it's extremely knowledgeable and well known in the industry.  Name it she has it! If this isn't enough,  you should see her personal system.

So sorry to brake it to you guys,  she knows more about this business/hobby than any of us. 

I am a woman audiophile, though I only discovered this wonderful Hi-Fi community a few years ago. While I am not very active on the forums (for obvious reasons), I love attending audio shows and meeting fellow audiophiles in person. 

We may not be very visible online, but we certainly have our own ways of being part of the community. For example, check out the children’s book Passport to Sound 🙂

Yes, I can imagine the 'obvious' reasons are women have the smarts and good sense to not waste time and energy on the petty nonsense we men bicker about on here.

It curious that there is such an imbalance between men and women in the audio world. My academic background was in Physics and it was the same there. On the surface, it appears to be a choice made by girls and women. Maybe there are barriers of which I am unaware. In science education, there’s talk about the lack of role models for girls. I find it hard to believe that would be a full explanation. 

It’s only anecdotal but my wife just doesn’t care for sitting down and doing nothing but listen to music. It would be torture for her and she prefers mainly escapist TV. She happily listens to Smooth Radio when driving and her standard very limited playlist when exercising. Also, she likes concerts. Perhaps, the difference has something to do with her being an extrovert activist and me an introvert reflector.

I am interested by many fields...My wife is interested by concrete problems of any kind related to children, health , house maintenance etc...

She is very intelligent so much all other women seek his advices (even me)...

But zero interest in geo-politics perspective (as most men anyway being mind programmed) no interest in music for the sake of music exploration,zero interest for acoustics...

I can discuss set theory and arithmetic only with A.I.  

Woman must be practical, men had a choice women with children and a beating heart had not : children safety nevermind their age ...

Do you want a woman interested in set theory and geo-politics with no interest for house maintenance, children health and education ? A woman for which few musical hours will consume his evenings after work ?  And who will forget your existence discussing Set theory with A.I. at meal hour? or the version with low I.Q. always glued on the phone ?

Woman has  almost nothing common with man except love and a working mind.
