I presume that you mean that the manufacturers of power distribution and/or conditioning systems [rather than the equipment itself] rely on what the hear and [you assert] that a rational person knows that relying on what one hears is subjective and [you assert] not valid.

It is perhaps a tad ironic that you are basing an argument which centres on subjectivity on a statement full of circular logic and entirely subjective and unsubstantiated statements made by yourself.

I like having everything plugged in to one unit sharing one AC wall receptacle which is very effective at helping to prevent ground loops along with reasonably competent surge protection that I'll pay hundreds of $ for not thousands. Having little ergonomic touches like the AC receptacles on the PLC mounted with ground pin on top so your heavier cables stay in place and not work themselves out and the amps and line voltage indicators on front are nice touch if not exactly useful.

Snake oil.

Power conditioning is not snake oil, but it’s not everyone who needs it.  Two houses ago, the power to my home was near a hundred years old .  It was noisy, we had voltage spikes and the difference between daytime and nighttime was huge.  I ended up buying a used Audience Power conditioner and most of the noise went away.  We moved to a brand new subdivision with all the power underground. The power was so much better and you couldn’t hear a difference with or without the conditioner.  We’ve moved again and we’re back in the big city, but in area with both above and underground power.  We can go for days or weeks with the power being pretty good, but there have been a few afternoons where you could really hear noise like a buzzing and a very faint squeal , so I put the conditioner back in on just my Streamer, CD spinner, DAC and Preamp.
