Looking for a well matched Preamp. Pls advise!

I agree with @fatdaddy2  Although I haven’t heard that TT, I wouldn’t spend anything like $2000 on a preamp - unless you intend to replace the Victrola with a higher end TT soon. Then you need to consider whether you’d be going AN MC or MM cartridge. But that’s another discussion. Not sure if the Victrola has a built in phono stage. If so, you currently don’t need a pre with one included. In that case, $800 for something like the Schiit Kara would be as much as I would invest.

What Marantz are you using?  I disagree completely that it’s not worthwhile to upgrade your preamp.  A preamp is critical, and a good dedicated stereo preamp will greatly improve overall system performance whether you’re using your turntable or DAC especially if you’re currently using a mass market AVR.

@fatdaddy2 @mggartner   Thanks for your thoughts. While I’m pretty happy with the Vic, (90% of my listening  is using the wired connection) It nice to stream an album to my office or deck via Sonos.  Having said that, i would like the Preamp to be somewhat versatile if i decide to move on from the Victrola.
