I don't wonder if he wanted my help.  🤣  And no one is forcing him to accept our opinions.  But I would point out that so far, no one has chimed with "hey great idea.  I did it and had a wonderful experience".  Cheers.

If you already know the brand, for this suggestion, let’s say it’s Accuphase, reach out to them directly, see if they would allow you to tour their facility and if they would be able to provide the unique experience of buying a piece of gear either direct from them or one of their local authorized dealers with the right voltage straight out of their factory.  If it’s not about saving $$ but an experience and you share that, they might oblige.  Some Car manufactures will let you order a car and pick it up off line, Audi being one. I have toward HiFi manufactures in the past.
