Will a Rogue Audio Sphinx v3 perform decently with my Sonus Faber?

hello from london, my first thread!

i am using sonus faber olympica i standmounts (87db, 4ohm) in a smallish room (17x9 in feet), not crazy levels, jazz but also rock.

i have a complex setup (lab12 tube pre, arthur boxem class d power amp, and longdog audio hybrid phono stage for my Hana SL MC). and a REL T5.

I really need fewer boxes, but also some cash, and it is tempting to sell everything and buy a used decent integrated, currently eyeing a rogue sphinx v3 , not do well known here. But i can't audition

i expect that it can't perform as well as what i have, but could i get reasonably close? maybe not for the phono stage. I guess i should go for the magnum upgrade, or the pharaoh, but that might be later...

@parkergetdean and here is me looking for americans to tell me how good their stuff is! 😆 I wonder which other country punches above its weight/ size? Denmark, norway?

@proux -

Funny you should ask that.

In the UK, you get different (and better) SONY amplifiers and receivers than we do in the states.  What Hi-Fi is a good source for that information.  Same is true for Denon.

You also have Naim, Quad, Arcam, all of UK vintage to name a few.

This may be going down the rabbit hole a bit, but there should be a Richer Sounds or other shops nearby to start the search.

@rar1 Rich

yes there is a nearby richer sounds and they may get to know  me well! They usually offer long warranty and occasional deals but still of course will not get second hand prices. There was a also a really nice branch of the sevenoaks chain but it closed...

@proux that's a good question. I think there are a great values on this side of the pond too.

Scandinavian gear is way overpriced. There is a never ending debate about whether Hegel is cheap or expensive and it's only cheap if you have thousands of $ to begin with.

I think what makes a unit cheap-er is economies of scale in the R&D, some luck, where it's made, and distribution costs that can be 50%.

The way I look at it is that I research brands and figure out which ones appeal to me in philosophy, sound, priorities and such. And of the course: looks!

In my price range, it's boutique or little bigger than boutique shops, like Parasound,  AVA, Creek, Audiolab, Musical Fidelity, Classe and a few more.

I would love Simaudio, Accuphase, Coda and such but they won't be in my budget - however there is a lot to love about my list and I am perfectly content with the sound.

Now that Mofi distribution is the importer for Lab12 has anyone had experience getting service from them.  The warranty is for 5 years and I bought my Pre1 from a dealer who no longer carries this brand.  Mofi is who you are supposed to contact regarding service, but this far they have been not terribly helpful.  What are others experiences like and who can I send this to for service?  I am based in the USA
