What SUT for Ortofon Cadenza Black and Simaudio 891 Preamp

The Cadenza Black has an output of 0.33mV and an internal impedance of 5 Ohms. I want to use one of the lowest gain settings of the preamp, which are 40, 54, 60, 66dB.

What SUT would be suitable for this combination? Budget to be determined.

Thanks

Only added Three Digits to the Model No' since COVID times, I remain pleased with my over exaggeration control.

I will suggest the1254 was the supplied Model, I will have to go back through a lot of posts on another forum to learn what I bought in the Group Buy.

Viridian, I don’t doubt what you say as regards liking a 1:18 SUT more than a 1:10 SUT, but there are many other possible reasons for the sonic differences besides the fact that the respective turns ratios result in a difference in cartridge loading. For one thing, when you use a higher turns ratio, that affects the capacitance (due to the cable between the SUT and the phono stage plus the input C of the phono stage) seen by the cartridge by a factor equal to the square of the turns ratio, so maybe somehow the big increase in capacitance with the 1:18 SUT works in your favor in your system. Or maybe it is only that your 1:18 SUT is superior in other ways to your 1:10 SUT.  In fact, the difference in the load on the cartridge between the two would be way down my list of explanations, but maybe you have data not mentioned.

@fundsgon I went through this a couple of years ago. Just an FYI, don't assume a SUT is a SUT. Some have much wider bandwidth than others.

You may want to consider something like the Technics 305 SUT.

If you were nearby have several SUTs that I have bought over the years.
