Bob Weir

I just discovered that Bob Weir has passed. I’m really getting old. It seems like yesterday that I was at a show watching Bob, Jerry and Phil mixing it up on stage.

@larsman Sounds good. The closest shows to me will be Newport and then Columbus. I’ve typically, been in a place where I tell myself, it’s not Jerry so what’s the point. Maybe I’ve been cheating myself from having fun and suspect that seeing DSO will be nonetheless be worthwhile.

@goofyfoot - there should be plenty of DSO music via streaming or YouTube, and you can check it out and see what you think. I hope you get to see them - it's a good time and the audience vibe is that of a GD show. And I wasn't talking about Donna's infamous caterwauling because you are right; she often couldn't hear herself properly (when she comes in with some of those, I wish I couldn't hear her properly either, and in fact, I often turn the volume down on 'Playin' when she's about to start in!)  but I think it's more than just that.

@larsman. I share similar sentiments with you. After Jerry’s passing, the only bands that could “scratch the itch” for me were Dark Star Orchestra and Phil and Friends.
Also, my greatest appreciation for Keith comes from 73 and 74. Kind of jazzy funky stuff. But I am a sucker for the wake of the flood era.
