Regarding the first one, it has been some time that i did not listen to this John Abercrombie's album, I auditioned it again. You may also like his earlier similar live album with Marc Johnson and Peter Erskine, another studio album  "Current Events",  and  a  duet "Structures" with  Eddie Gomez. 

I suppose you also enjoy other jazz guitarists of his generation, Ralph Towner, Terje Rypdal, Bill Friesel, John Scofield (who also played with Miles Davis), Pat Metheny. And also the next generation guitarists,  whom I also like (Julian Lage, Antonio Forcione, Leonel Loueke, Dominic Miller, Pasquale Grasso, Wolfgang Muthspiel just to name a few). 

As to your second link, honestly, I did not know about Sonny Sharrock! I did like his album you linked to your message and also another live album (with Mitch Mitchell!) named "No Material" (the second one even more) that i am just auditioning now! 

PS I especially like John Abercrombie's solos on Charles Lloyd's double album called "Lift Every Voice", check it!

Bitches Brew and Pangaea are two of my favourite albums by Miles, as different as they are. 

John McLaughlin virtually created jazz fusion guitar, his acoustic guitar is no less outstanding. But I think since 1992 he didn't have a great album, though there were great performances of older compositions.

thanks for the input. I did not know about the guitarist F. Robert Lloyd (by the way, there is a classic opera singer with the same name). I searched for his albums on Tidal and found only one called "Think about Brooklin". This is a quite multifold album including Indian-like music (the first composition that i liked), blues-like tracks (i like the most #7 called "Four lives in a day suit") and also more rock oriented tracks. Listening to some tracks (also some of Sonny Sharrock's performances), I was recalling Frank Zappa - a pioneer in guitar improvisation! 

@stuartk, the track named "Piece 1" on Sonny Sharrock's album "No material" is incredible (the sax, guitar and Pastorius-like solid base)! By the way, I have to correct the mistake i made in my previous post - this album was  with Junger Baker (not Mi​tch Michell as claimed before - both were exceptional rock drummers). 

@inna, I like Miles Davis "On the corner" (which though could have been better recorded/mixed), "Big Fun" (which is much better recorded) and Panthalassa (it combines different tracks). You perhaps also like John Mclaughlin's solos in these albums. I think his Mahavishnu music has a strong ínflense of Miles Davis late 60s and early 70s albums.  Collin Walcot, the best  (to me) jazz sitar player, a former member of Oregon, also played in the first above album (sadly, he had a car accident and died young in 1983 in Magdeburg, Germany) .
