What is your experience with Magico A3 or A5 speakers and the company as a whole?

The B&W’s are a bit more efficient than Magico, like 5 db at 1 watt. I’ve read on these forums and others that Magico uses klippel to build the most measurably accurate speakers that listeners who don't like them say is because they have no dynamics, dull, lifeless, flat etc. IME with other inefficient speakers HUGE power reserves often compensates for the lack of dynamics, but I’ve got no experience with Magico.  The D4 line of B&W is getting praise for being so enjoyable to listen to folk don’t care if they deviate from measurably accurate. 

  2 brands with opposite priorities that are both on top of their game and as it’s your money YOU get to decide, have fun with it.

I don’t think you will like Magico A3 as a replacement for your B&Ws.
Completely different sound. Where B&Ws are lively and dynamic, Magico A3 is darker and not as natural sounding. I have not heard the A5s but supposedly they’re better. 
If you like B&W sound, stick with B&W. If you are looking for something with natural tone and lively character outside of the B&W lineup, look into Wilson Audio, Marten or the upper tier Sonus Faber which are slightly warmer but still very natural and dynamic.

This is an example of deliberate tuning, that would probably make some low IQ ASR guy pull his hair....or not formulaic and safe to please the general masses These guys can design a speaker better than anyone in his garage and his uncle put together, but, they had the courage to say this is the closest to how our instruments tend to sound after most things went through the mastering chain... and that’s what you get.

Wilson is not worth a discussion...its for guys who heard brand name Wilson gave them some high end street cred or whatever...To add to that...they don't make their drivers in-house, a.k.a instant disqualification from discussion....

Blanket statements like this do not reflect all user’s experience.  In fact quite the opposite.  I find Wilson much better than Magico to my ears.  I thought the A3 were flat and uninvolved. ​​​​​​

Why? 

@onehorsepony best thing you can do is audition as many speakers as possible. Pick what sounds best to you. Buying blind is a huge risk.
