Speaker or amplifer

I have to choose between a Sonus faber sonetto v g2 or a Hegel h400. I have listened to both of them and came away very impressed. My system consists of a Sonus faber iii and Cronus magnum iii. I like the speakers that I have would the hegel h400 be the best upgrade for my system.

That’s the way I’m leaning towards starting with the speakers. Then I will worry about the amplifier.

I have the Sonetto G2-8    These punch with much more authority then the V model

and hit peaks to around 30 hz , most recordings like 98%  don’t even go below 34 hz , these speakers like power a big quality tube amp with Big  transformers and 4 ohm taps , or SS amp ,I have the Vitus Entry level Alluxity  integrated amp

300wpc into 4  ohms works withEase and excellent Bass in my 30x16 room.

The thing is the Rogue has a sound while the Hegel is more neutral and a lot of music lovers appreciate what Rogue Audio brings to their system. How do I say this? I appreciate the consistency of Hegel, but RA might be better at compensating for a tonal imbalance caused by room reflections. I can loan you an H360.

Enjoy your demoing.

Amp difference will be audible just as the speakers- which one you like better may surprise you.

I am considering the same quandary - change speaker (Olympica Nova V) or upgrade amp (considering getting a second amp to run in mono as well as considering a different btand).

I hope to enjoy the journey and good luck on yours.

I decided to upgrade my speakers and will demo a pair of Acora mrb-1and fyne audio f502sp.
