Does anyone have a digital system that is as involving as their analogue front end?
@audio-b-dog Please give more warning on the diagnosis audiophelianervosa. I almost spilled my drink and called the dr!
Does anyone have a digital system that is as involving as their analogue front end?
Excellent question and I think my analog and digital are pretty close to me.  And this is very dependent on the music and recording.  An excellent analog recording sounds awesome and so does an excellent digital file. I listen mostly to digital f...
Why did high end audio manufacturers take the wrong path in manufacturing gear?
Interesting question.    I expect the price to the customer cover profit plus manufacturing and R&D costs. The value proposition then is determined with the ideal buyer demographics. If the manufacturer is right the product will set and make ...
Speaker or amplifer
Enjoy your demoing.    Amp difference will be audible just as the speakers- which one you like better may surprise you.    I am considering the same quandary - change speaker (Olympica Nova V) or upgrade amp (considering getting a second amp to ...

Would you consider the Naim Atom headphone amp?  Using a nice headphone eliminates the neighbor issues and provides you a small compact system with excellent sound and convenience.  Sennheiser 820S would be fantastic and the total cost would be lo...
Should I get the Moon 891 streamer/dac/preamp for my Moon 861 amp? Or separates?
Enjoy!
McIntosh MC302 vs Anthem P2
I've owned the McIntosh MC 302 - there's a lot to love about the Mac.  There's a house sound and it's very pleasing. The best thing about it is if you change your mind there's excellent resale. I've heard Anthem Home Theatre Receivers - I decided...
Should I get the Moon 891 streamer/dac/preamp for my Moon 861 amp? Or separates?
I have a 791 - prior to it I owned a 390. I have been very pleased with the performance and support from Moon when I have had questions. I was having issues with drop outs - it was a modem issue.  He called me after I shared logs from the MiND app...
8 Reasons why you should buy an $50,000 DAC
@rsf507 perhaps you are correct but then again the cost of the interconnects, power cables and such reduce the $50,000 budget or result in unexpected costs increase.    Linn could provide me an excellent one stream/DAC… so I see options for a one...
MHA200 headphone amp. McIntosh failed mel
@jfrost27 McIntosh was very good to me - purchased demo items with warranty and it always worked. Hopefully you get to enjoy your new unit shortly.
8 Reasons why you should buy an $50,000 DAC
It’s your money- spend as you choose.    If it was me I ‘d be inclined to have a single DAC/streamer in order to save space and the cost of interconnects and power chords.
MHA200 headphone amp. McIntosh failed mel
What was important in your decision to buy a headphone amp from McIntosh?   I have had excellent experiences with McIntosh and it’s not my I initial answer to a goal. The C2600 had an acceptable head phone amp. The Chord Mojo 2 was a significant ...
Whats playing on your system today?

Do you recall "instant improvement" from your first stand-alone DAC ?
I have only used streaming DACs and each upgrade was significant.

Live and learn. And money is a tool - just like any tool it can be misused.    I enjoy music and with home much electronics have advanced some folks view paying any more than a phone and service plan is too much money on music.
