How much do you want to spend? What are the room dimensions? What type of music do you typically listen to and at what volume?
You will get a lot of suggestions, but this information is really needed to help you out. Sorry about your fried speaker -- did that once in college to my pair of Electro-Voice's. Sucked. |
As @dekay stated,Before I run out to spend more money,I would find out what happened to the damaged speaker. It would stink to get new speakers just to fry another one. Hopefully you’ll get the issue resolved. |
Does “ I blew one speaker “ mean the entire unit stopped working , or one of the drivers went out ? Does your Mac have a speaker protection circuit ? To directly answer your question and considering the Mac is 100 wpc and your Marantz available, I’d consider Klipsh Forte’s or Heresy’s. I have Klipsch KG’s paired with a Marantz 2226, and Klipsh Heresy’s paired with a Sansui 6060. For new speakers I’d consider Kef’s and Tektons. A price point would be helpful. I wish you well on your repairs. Respectfully, Mike B. |
