How can I go about using an eq on my Dali MS 4.

I have never used an eq and I am considering it. I want to tame the hi freq. just a little.  All sugestions welcome. Pros and cons. After thought also brining up the mids a little.

I’m using a McIntosh MQ112 Environmental Equalizer.

i only use it for old song touch up, not for room EQ. It’s very clean and trust the quality. It has a bypass switch, and usually run it like that, unless some songs need touch up.

Been using the brilliant Schiit Loki Max for a few years and it works perfectly. I  rarely need it but when I do, it works. Remotely.

Add in the Charter Oak Peq-1. No noise, completely transparent. You’ll keep it a long long time. Amazing pro finishing device. Really useful for music you love with less than optimal recording parameters. Find it used if even possible.

I introduced to @bigwave1  what is now vintage Charter Oak PEQ-1, OG serial number 1000 or so or less and made before 2018 by Michael Deming. This EQ is the real deal. I mention the serial number because later iterations, including the one sold new today, are no longer made by Mr. Deming and don’t sound as good. But anything made before 2018 is simply the most musical best sounding pro analog EQ I’ve ever heard. And I’ve heard at least 6 different ones in my hi fi system, so I know a thing or two. Look for one on places like Reverb. They pop up in pro audio stores periodically used and in good condition. But they don’t list more that a few days before being scooped up. Demand high for them. And they will sell used for 1900 when they were bought new years ago for 2700. Pretty good retained value. I own 3 of them because I never want to live without one. It’s that good. This year I have opened my house to a couple of new audiophile friends who have heard it used in my system and have been mightily impressed. Cannot say enough good things about this device. It has been an audiophile life changer for me.
