Stereophile - Sabrina 5

Hate to rag on Sterophile again, but one of two things are true.  One, the Sabrina speakers they reviewed were wired incorrectly or Wilson is now shipping with inverted midranges.

All that work to reduce distortion to vanishing levels only to totally ahem, add custom flavor to the frequency response.

Honestly if I was reviewing this speaker I'd have stopped to reach out to them before publishing, just to be sure this speaker shipped as intended.

....you know what they say…"opinions are like noses…everyone has one."

Noses? Not the version I heard ;)

"You can keep on hating but that changes nothing for people who own and enjoy these speakers. "

Some people never want a discussion. They see discourse as trying to convince everyone that they are wrong. Doesn't take long before everyone just stops acknowledging their comments.

Oh...you know how these things go...The guy’s been mad ever since he bought some 15k nordost or whatever cable... and i bought some Asian inspired version of it on aliexpress for 50 bucks instead. I prolly bought 4 or 5 pairs of used speakers instead to flavor it up, at the price of some authentic nordost fanciness....Perhaps, it all sparked some deep uncertainties/distress inside his audiophilic core...Perhaps, he had some vision of me and the authentic nordost dealer getting sloshed at the bar, holding hands and dancing together....But, he’ll get over it, time heals all wounds.

I have AN-Es, and there are so many criticisms by enthusiasts of Audio Note, and they don’t in any way diminish me or make me angry. My ego is just not that fragile.  So my advice to you?  Chill, man.

Actually, you’re assuming facts not in evidence, which is that the OP has never listened to Wilsons.  That’s unclear me.  But, for the sake of argument let’s assume that’s the case.  My example of car enthusiasts is a great analogy.  You can take a look at power and torque curves and have a very good idea of how a car will drive in certain conditions (i.e., straight line acceleration).  It’s really easy to see why a stock VW Golf R benefits from an APR stage 1 tune, just by looking at one set of curves.

In your criticisms of the OP, you’ve never once addressed his fundamental point, which is that there’s a consistent 5 db dip in the response curve that shouldn’t be there.  You could simply say that measurements don’t matter, and they sound great to you.  Instead, you’ve attacked the OP from your very first post.  It’s pretty transparent, and really pathetic.

Listen, Erik is an engineer, and he does "work" with speaker building. It is obvious why he would post the measurements here. Some folks rely heavily on measurements. Engineers certainly do. You can easily read into people how they write..."mine is bigger than yours". 333, I would never want to be acquainted with you, which is a shame, as I, too, would like to hear some of your horn speakers. You display nastiness and misery vibes. This audio industry of ours should be a fun one, and shared, happily and politely. Saying that a $28,000 pr of speakers should sell for $2800., shows me, ignorance and immaturity, on your part.. If my post gets deleted by Admin, so be it. My best to everyone else, MrD.

@mdalton show me where I attacked anyone here. Just because you don’t like what I have to say doesn’t constitute an attack on my part. You got no concrete arguments. You chose a side and now everything that isn’t to your liking is an attack. That’s pretty common and isn’t new. I’m not here to tell you what you’d like to hear. Take a walk around the block and cool it. What’s pathetic is your mentality.
Good bye.
