given that you are young minded, maybe nerdy teenagers could be an option. There are aspects of hifi my kids love (and aspects that they reject since I am preaching it)

Also, taking advantage of social media to find relevant groups could be a start. Facebook has a lot of groups, and is mostly used by middle aged and older generations.

Lastly, would coupling it with another activity work? Wine, cooking, tweaking electronics or such?

My wife's post retirement job sometimes brings people to our house for social parties where my audio system is usually playing albeit at low volume. It always amazes me how many people of all ages stare at my tube pre and ask "what are those glowing things?"

One of the best things I did this month was have the neighbor ladies boyfriend come over for $80 and help me tear down and clean my system. I felt like a pimp. He was fawning all over it and in complete awe 🫢 of something I was able to accomplish! The best part is all I had to do was point and he did all the bending and twisting!

Formerly lived in Nassau County, south shore, and I'd be over in a heartbeat if I didn't currently live a thousand miles away.  It's a heavily populated area so I'm sure you will find like-minded people who share in our hobby that would take you up on your offer.
