I found the wavelet unusable due to clipping distortion . Lost a lot of money on it. It’s in my closet now
Any Legacy Wavelet owners experiencing room correction issues
I just upgraded to the Wavelet 2 from an older v1 and I cannot get the room correction to work properly. I get errors during the calculations. (See image below.)
I am not big fan of how the correction process works but I have had excellent results in the past.
I thought it was a network issue on my end but nothing I did changed the outcome. I took it to friend's house just be sure but got the same errors.
I have tried different amps, cables, speakers, bypassing AC line conditioners and noise filters and power cords to no avail. I have been working with the guys at Legacy and have swapped out several units with them and all do the same thing once they are hooked up to my system even though they worked fine at their shop prior. (their service and cooperation has been nothing less than stellar BTW!) They are working with Bohmer to see if something changed on their end.
So... just wondering if any other Wavelet owners have experienced these issues.

Legacy is announcing a standalone DSP for their speakers at the next AXPONA show in April. I'll be attending that show and plan on buying it if it looks and sounds good. I never wanted the wavelet because I wanted my own DAC and Preamp. I didn't want to pay for the un-needed parts when I only cared about the DSP. I'm glad they decided to go this route. |
@willywonka , no matter what their DSP function runs off their internal DAC AFAIK. For the DSP to work it will have to go through their internal DAC, BUT, if as in my case as well as yours the first DAC makes a positive difference before Bohmer gets it.
