Who Uses KIRMUSS Restoration System?

I met Charles Kirmuss recently at the NY Audio Show, Michael Fremer calls him a Propeller Head, I found him convincing,

WHO has/uses his system?

One option is to simply buy and use his spray to change the polarity of my solution while manually scrubbing

another is to buy Upscale’s package for $1,199, the revised slots let you clean 3 12" LPs, 1 7", no 10" slot for 78’s, (default design is 2-12, 1=10", 1-7")" and the price matches the discounted ’show’ price

I watched a long slow video, haven't seen this, but it is only 5 minutes

from Kirmuss site

"Since both the water and record have the same slight negative charge, water with or without a cleaning solution added in an ultrasonic’s tank with a record spinning cannot see any sonic action in the record’s grooves. Like charges repel, which is why the Kirmuss process sees the record subjected to multiple cycles as the ionizing spray that is applied to the record only temporarily changes the charge of a record to a positive. As the record spins, the charge is reduced. By reapplying the ionizing spray prior to introduction into the sonic’s tank, the opposite charge returns, stripping out films left over by prior cleaning methods then the release agent itself (Shure in the 1970s called this a “pressing oil”)."

so I have been wondering how to get a Positive charge in my mix when I do my manual and vigorous scrub

I could buy and use Kirmuss mix, expensive, or, as discussed in this subsequent discussion, buy and add a bit of glycol to my mix.

this stuff, costs only $0.60/oz?

Is this man seriously suggesting that ultrasonic cleaners do not and cannot work because "water and record have the same slight negative charge"?

You don't have to be a herpetologist to see what kind of liquid is being sold here.

The system is bunk. All you need is a $200 ultrasonic and a vacuum. There is no way to retore a record. You simply clean it. This guy has been confronted by actual scientists who put him in his place in about 60 seconds.

Anyone can see with a UV light that US machines certainly are effective regardless of polarity.

Polarity is a moot point if you manually wash with something like a goat hair brush with bristles small enough to fit into the record grooves.

I think that's true, I just got curious, my spin tank is only for rinse, distilled water only.

I use these baby scalp brushes and scrub vigorously without concern
