Trouble with Qobuz

Hello all - I am running an Innuos Zenith Mk3 into the DAC 2 contained in my McIntosh 9500 integrated.  The Innuos is hardwired to a Google Mesh extender.  I use Qobuz to stream music. And that's the problem.

The Innuos is compatible with Qobuz Connect.  Connect worked for a while but now is, at best, intermittent.  When it's not playing the app just tells me that a song cannot be played due to an unidentified "error."

Qobuz plays perfectly on the Innuos Sense app and the BluSound app.

I contacted Qobuz through their chatbox.  I was first given to an AI functionary.  I was offered generic and worthless suggestions.  I was soon transferred to a real person.  I was given, again, very basic and worthless suggestions.  My problem now is that I haven't heard from Qobuz since December 5, even though I have sent 2 follow up texts.  I have also emailed Qobuz which has gone unanswered.

My questions to you all are:  Do any of you have suggestions as to how to fix my Qobuz technical problem?  If not, do you have any ideas as to how I can get Qobuz to respond to me?

Thanks!

Ken

Thank you all for your ideas!  In a sort of perverse way I was glad to hear that others had the same problem so it wasn’t just me. It is irritating that Qobuz knows about this and either doesn’t care or just can’t fix it. A friend of mine had the same problem with his Icon, but he was able to get it working.

I will probably just keep using the Innuos app.

I need to correct a stupid mistake I made. The extender and the streamer are connected by an Ethernet cord.

Thanks, again.

It’s the mesh. I know what they say about how far stuff reaches, but I ended up moving my modem and router near to my so I could hardwire the two.

The extender and the streamer are connected by an Ethernet cord.

Understood, but are you able to test the strength and lag on the extender? That WiFi (from router to extender) is the weak link in your network and could easily be causing Qobuz to get hung up.  It may be hard to solve unless you can put another access point/mesh node in between the router and what you’re calling an extender (presumably it is a mesh node itself?), unless you can get Ethernet or fiber optic cable from the router directly to your streamer (or to a switch that you can hard wire the streamer too.  (Personally, i am a big fan of running fiber from your router (ether with a router that has an SFP port or via a fiber media converter) to your streamer (with a FMC and SFP transducer just before the streamer). Because fiber is so thin and flexible, you may be able to run it great lengths in your home in all but invisible ways (e.g., up in the ceiling, down behind walls, along base boards, etc.) Also fiber has the advantage of no EMI, WiFi or radio interference.  Good Corning glass fiber is still very cheap compared to even BJC Ethernet, never mind the fancy audiophile versions.

I would think if it is a Qobuz issue we all would be having issues at one time or another.

Get ride of the Google Mesh, it's crap. Weird that everyone cares so much abut ethernet "noise" then gets these cheap extenders that have really bard radios in them.

Also change your DNS, about 90% of network issues come down to DNS.

Use google 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 or cloud flair 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1

Just changing DNS will help just about everywhere.
