Component faceplates

Panzerholz got a mention  Hoo-Rah, I have also seen this finished with very attractive grained Wood Veneer, but not as a Faceplate.

Due to time constraints, my New Produced Pre' Amp's did not get the P'holz casings I wanted for them, maybe something for later on as an upgrade route?

Not only Fascia Finish is the attraction, Fascia Population is also a large proportion of the attraction also. A Brands Name ( Conspicuous - Inconspicuous) accompanying a single Power On Button, through to LED Displays and Multi-Controls will be a deal breaker on Pre Amps and a Source. The Power Amp's are usually able to be kept minimalist with being populated.

One Fascia Style from the Brand EAR is the most easy to identify as being EAR, I'm not sure any of the other Brands have got this side of their marketing so ingrained in the minds of their potential customers. 

Let's not forget NAD's late 70's battle ship Grey. I have an 3080 that has this color and to top it off...the font graphics are a sort of light gold/yellow tone. Forgetting about all of that, it is one of the sweetest integrated amps I've ever listened to. Oh, I changed out the white incandescent with blue LED's. Just my two cents. 

My components are in various shades of chrome, silver-ish (Cambridge Audio) and black. Some of my equipment was purchased new, purchased used or was gifted. 

Having sold audio in the late 70's heyday, I am still drawn to the Silver faced stuff of yore especially with some nice illuminated VU meters. I think a stack of Pioneer Spec series separates would be great to have if restored.

Silver for three reasons. One, another child of the 1970s. Two, I adore industrial design and silver looks more industrial. Three, and most importantly, I can't see black boxes in a dark room. Particularly black on black controls. Or black buttons on black remotes. Black machines might as well be invisible. To my eye, they might as well be black holes, lacking any visual inducement to discover whether they might have some function.

As long as they have blue meters I'm happy.occasionly I have to get up and tap some of the analog because the get stuck so I provides exercise and prevents deep leg blood clots from sitting in the same place too long and that's why I spin vinyl and silver discs.for the physical health the music is mental health.
