Office stereo

Last year I installed two Moon North based systems at home and then, in a flash of guilt-induced generosity, gifted my Naim Uniti Atom + Harbeth P3ESR to my nephew. Meanwhile, at work, I had been making do with a tiny pair of antique Cambridge Soundwork speakers and a sub --- and the sub finally gave up on me after 25 years. I'd love to steal my gift back. Just kidding ... but that means I need your help.

Office is about 130-140 sq ft. Picture below. I have a couple of computers in there and can dedicate a Mac mini to streaming Qobuz. That's all I want by way of music source.

I don't want bass (or to be precise, my neighbors won't want it). I want clear, neutral near-field listening at low volume. I'm not much into warmth or color. The more I think about it, the more I feel that the Naim Uniti Atom (+ Harbeths) would be a great reference point, though it might be slight overkill for such a small space.

What would you recommend by way of separates or integrated devices?

Using the Naim/Harbeth as a price reference point as well, I am thinking around $7500 in all, but I could be persuaded to budge .. preferably downward. Votes for the reference point also welcome. Thanks all.

My suggestion is to settle on the speaker choice first and then select a suitable amp. IME, it'll be hard to find something better than the Harbeth P3er for that room size. Their sealed cabinets make it easy to place them near wall boundaries. A Hegel integrated amp will go nicely.

A pair of Kali IN-8 v2 3-way studio monitors would around $1k.

A Topping DX5 mkII DAC has a ton of features including balanced output and parametric EQ forv$300.

Should sound fantastic in an office.

If I may, I have two suggestions:

I've been very pleased with them as my computer's sound system. Also, you may consider these:

I've heard the Transparent One Encore Plus and they are quite impressive in both soundstage and range.

Happy listening.

The Ugraded Wiim amp ultra may be perfect for your office. It’s a streamer + DAC + pre-amp + amp. The system consists one mini all-in-one box with a pair speakers. Streaming is solid and navigation is easy. Simple, affordable, and don’t take the space. Also, it comes with a world-class attached Wavetouch audio power cord. So, one less concern of power cord. The sound is world-class (below video). It’s a smart system for a new age. Alex/Wavetouch audio

WT amp ultra all-in-one streamer + DAC +Amp,

Vandersteen VLR's. A real sleeper.

Great bass if located near corners. If not get another sub- I use Hsu, but a Vandy 2wq would be even better.
