A Charlie Brown Christmas 24/192 Qobuz

Who has listened to this this season? If this doesn't give you the warm and fuzzies I don't know what will. Almost finished streaming the remastered and expanded version, 14 tracks, yet it is only 43 minutes, from Qobuz on high res, and not the best recording by any means, but sounds pretty decent. Some hiss, large soundstage, and of course many tunes that could have been 10 times as long as they are. Skating is just 2:25? Come on! And this was produced 60 years ago!

I think I will hear it in its entirety again when it is done. Maybe I'll try the 24 track version next.

Great Holiday choice.

For year round listening check out Vince Guaraldi’s "Jazz Impressions of a boy name Charlie Brown"

For  period LP disciples, this is the one to get.

@mclinnguy -

Oh yes--a choice cut of beef is getting up there! I was shocked when I saw the prices. Last year was pretty pricey, also. We did a crown roast for six people-almost $250. This year, Coq Au Vin. We have money leftover for presents :-)

And how many times have have producers, executives, A&R men been wrong! Decca Records The A&R boss, Dick Rowe, told the Beatles they have no future because guitar groups were no longer commercial.

McLinnGuy:

We graduated from various whole birds and roasts to baked pies for Thanksgiving and Xmas dinner.

Tomorrow is a large 14" chicken pot pie made from scratch (except for the dough/crust which then eats up 25% of the cost).

Total cost for the large breast meat pie is approx $12 (2 meals, easy, for the 2 of us).

5-6 years ago I made savory meat, savory vegetable and sweet desert pies, but I lack the Oomph for doing such diversity @ the present.

Never giving up on diversity and Oomph is the model of life.
