Why redbook over SACD?

Far from my experience of buying and playing SACDs over 25 years on Marantz and Reavon players and an ultra-affordable Sony transport.  I have never had any issue with a standard Digital out (er, that is HDMI). 

If you are thinking I2S, it was never designed as a digital connection except between two chips on a board, is not a standard, can only handle two-channels and performs neither error detection nor error correction.

I simply cannot fathom why North Americans never really 'got' SACD.  Last time I looked, Presto had over 6000 classical SACDs listed for sale, new.

Streaming cannot get close to the digital rates required for SACD and Pure Audio Blu-ray

You are so right about SACDs sounding “fuller” and having more “oomph”. I used to really like SACD playback with my Marantz, Teac and Oppo players. But the current DAC has taken that to next level. DSF files sound so “fluid”, if I can use that term. I convert everything to DSD and that makes a difference too. I have about 150 SACDs.

But, TBH, I thoroughly enjoy regular CDs. Last week I finally heard what REAL HDCDs sound like.

I like cd and blue meters.because i spent money on blue meters i have to go to the thrift stores and buy the 1$ cd.yes some have scratches and I get out my 90 s cd buffer and buff them however  I don't have to do that much because the newer models read them without flaw. I even dug out alot that would not play in my car and they play in my marantz sacd 10 and 9 se audio research and the luxman d 10 x all bought used < 50 %.  I use it all as i am a true audiophile crossdresser,stream,cd,vinal,tape. Ohh and local radio in car.enjoy the experiments and the science and stay healthy.

One major reason is that honestly dacs for PCM have gotten MUCH better.  Redbook (44.1kHz/16 bit) on most DACs sound so much better today than 25 years ago.  

Well I attended an audo presentation that was comparing CD's via the CH precision system, streaming and files downloaded to a computer.  All the masters were the same.  This was a top end system from CH Precison 10 and the new Innours NAZARE streamer.  The CD was the best sounding of the three.  There you go.
