Moving up in the REL line of subwoofers

i am sure cars or watches are among the others?  i appreciate the advice on the 31's.   i am 99% music and i use my existing two channel system to watch movies and tv but SQ is not all that important to me in that area. 

Favorite last words that many audio lovers say on a regular basis,  me included. is "that is it, i am done".  i have said that too many times but i do believe that as our systems get better and better,  it does get harder to really improve without spending way too much money.

@ronkent for 99% music you may want to consider the REL Carbon series as well.  Not quite as big a footprint as the 31/32’s but integrates equally as well IMO.  If I was going to do a 6-pack array this is the sub I would probably choose.

And yes, for hobbies you are spot on although I would have to add golf in there as well.  However, Golf differs in that there is less financial liability but higher frustration levels. I was fortunate to be able to retire early so I have way too much time on my hands.  I find my wine consumption is directly proportional to upgrades in SQ.  My wife now asks me to judge upgrades based on wine bottle %’s.  Major upgrades are typically worth 1/2 to a full bottle whereas minor ones are only 5% to 1/2 bottle.  She has always been more insightful than me!!!

I am 72 and i get the question a lot of when i am going to retire, and my answer i s always the same: "and do what,  i don't play golf".

most of my mad money goes to audio as it really is a never ending process.  

Thanks for the advice again on the subs.  i am pleased with the sound i get but as I mentioned,  always looking for ways to improve the SQ.  the Carbon series would certainly be a step up from what i have.   Thanks.  Kent

I'll preface my comments with there are no absolutes in audio, only preferences. I simply don't prefer REL subwoofers with passive radiators. My room is upstairs and no matter what I tried I could hear the passive radiator when I had dual REL Carbons. I initially liked the Carbons, but eventually sold them. I've owned several subwoofers...SVS Ultra 15&16, HSU, Martin Logan depth i, dual JL Audio F110s & F112s with CR1. I prefer REL No. 32s to any subwoofers that I've owned. I prefer them not necessarily because of the bass, but how they improve everything across the audio spectrum. Of course this is my opinion based on my experience.
