Ethernet switch worthwhile?

The better your streamer, the less likely an audiophile switch will make any noticeable impact. It is at best a tweak level change and only in some systems. 

I would say, once you have run out of systematic upgrades to your streamer, subcomponents... cables, cords, acoustic treatment... it would be worth a try. Best if you can return it. 

While I agree with @ghdprentice ,  I find a quality Ethernet switch and good network cable just before your streamer definitely makes a positive improvement. Notice how I said this, I find it makes a difference, and I can hear an improvement. People like @grunge1000 , Who make a definitive statement, don’t really understand the point of a forum like this. You will find many people with very good equipment who believe that a high-quality switch makes a difference. I am one of them. Some people can’t hear it. Some people do not have a system resolving enough to hear it. Some people deny it categorically. The etherRegen, is a good place to start, but not really of the quality to make a significant difference. Audiophile switches by GTT Audio, network acoustics, and JCAT make a significant improvement in my system which does include quality gear. I would suggest purchasing one that can be returned. Put it in your system with a good cable going into your streamer and see what you hear!

Fastfreight , Agreed most people don't have a good enough system to hear tweaks and improvements.  I have about $100k system counting cables and acoustic treatments and you have to have a certain level of a system to hear or even spend the money to hear at times major improvements.  

I know that reducing noise for both analog and digital devices leads to better audible performance. I remember 40 years ago Jacques Riendeau from Oracle coming to demonstrate his new external power supply for his turntable - absolutely an improvement in sound (how could this be, I thought?). Almost all of us have devices with external switching power supplies of various voltages and quality of manufacture. If you can replace those wall-wart power supplies in your audio system you will hear improvments on both streaming and analog playback. A better switch with a linear power supply offers better sound, isolating your audio system's wired ethernet connection from the rest of the house's network gives improvements in your digital audio playback. Use something like an iFi https://www.silentpower.tech/collections/enhancers/products/lan-ipurifier-pro or an ADOT to do this. Have a look at the DC linear power supplies made by KECES Audio - the P6, P9 and P14 models. Or the Plixir BDC mk2 DC power supplies. 

@fastfreight--What is to understand? He asked if a switch was worthwhile and I said no. Please conduct a statistically relevant test with / without your high priced switch and get back to me. Please explain how this switch can produce a sonic benefit to your highly resolving system? 

Instead of feeding into the audiophile insecurities that exist, I suggest spending his/ her money on something that may actually make a system sound better.
