Miyajima in Japan

Been meaning to follow up on my search for Miyajima in Japan.  I went to Yodabashi and a couple of other places.  No one had Miyajima or was interested in ordering any for me so I ended up buying a SUT online and having it shipped to the US.  Even with shipping and duty it was a LOT cheaper than buying one in the US.  If you are comfortable with buying online, I suggest you check out your options.  Of course, no returns unless defective and no service if you have issues later but the price difference still makes it pretty compelling.  I will probably buy a cartridge later this year.

@recordbore curious which SUT did you buy? Had you listened to it prior to the purchase?

I got service on one of the two Koetsu cartridges I bought in person in Tokyo and had delivered to me in the US, each with a factory warranty card. One of them had a deviated cantilever. I returned it and received a perfect replacement, no questions asked.

I am also going to Japan this spring and would like to pick up a couple MC cartridges.  For those that know, Please recommend obtainable brands (I can select from within the lines) and places for purchase (Tokyo, Kyoto).  Thanks so much.
