@peter_s I am not moving away from y CODA. I am selling it (maybe). I got $17k worth of gear on the FOR SALE listings and I may be able to squeeze by without selling the #16.
However, in the event I have to sell the CODA amp, this is the CODA amp I bought today. The ad should say sold.
Coda 11 Amplifier For Sale Or Trade - US Audio Mart
If I have to sell the CODA #16 amp I will almost certainly get another CODA #16 in the future. Though my friend who sells Allnic amps is coming over on Monday to listen to 100-watt Allnic tube amp he loves. He loves my speakers and uses it to test some uber gear he sells.
He brought over the $26k Allnic D-15000 Signature OTL/OCL DAC and that was stunning with the CODA #16 and Yamaha NS5000. The plan was to get that.
However, I was over his place, and he had the Imersiv D-1 DAC sitting around and having iPad connectivity issues. I volunteered to test it out at my place with my Sonore OpticalRendu streaming and also an iPad. I have a thread about the Imersiv DAC that I started about 8 months ago. Follow along to see more details. My friend only learned of this DAC when the manufacturer contacted him a month or 2 ago. I was on this DAC long ago.
Long story short I am now selling all of the gear that is now redundant, except the CODA #16 is essential but I know the Imserv D-1 DAC and the CODA #11 is better than my old gear and the CODA #16, This is by a wide margin.
The Imersiv DAC is shockingly good, I say it is a revolutionary DAC not evolutionary. This is the first DAC where direct to amp is the way I will go. My friend is building an audiophile device to allow me to output XLR to 3 destinations,
- RAAL VM-1a tube headphone amp
- Schiit Wotan or CODA #11 in the office
- CODA #16 or CODA #11 in the Livingroom
BTW - I am paying MRSP, so I am not getting any discount to talk about it here. I was offered one, but I never take discounts from friends. The DAC is also butt ugly.
BTW2 - Here is the reason I had the CODA #11 always on the back of my mind. I have been suggesting this as an option to people for a while now.
