@soix Yes, absurd. There are hundreds of quirks that could be causing the issue. Tammy asking for a screen shot doesn't warrant your tone or response, at all.
All these pop up ads have ruined my experience on Audiogon.
Geese, what a horrible experience on Audiogon now. The whole site is plastered with pop up ads that takes away any enjoyment from browsing ads anymore.
Must be they are either getting more greedy or times are catching up with Audiogon with their high fees and strict payment options.
I have been a member since its first days back in the late nineties and as the British would say, “it’s completely rubbish now”.

@builder3 This has been going on for months and they promised to fix it a long time ago and have done nothing since except ask for screenshots. It’s patently obvious this happened precisely when they deluged the site with ads — they know it and have just refused to fix it so yeah I’m pissed and don’t really care one bit about your opinion of my tone. I emailed with Tammy several times about a couple months ago explaining the issue and she said it was a top priority and would be fixed in a few days and nothing’s happened since so I’m done. All that said, at this point I don’t give one crap if they fix it or not anymore because the site works well on Brave Browser that blocks all the ads causing the problem, and from this thread alone you can see many people have also had it and are switching to Brave or another ad blocker so Audiogon is now just hurting themselves because eyeballs/ad $ are literally walking out the door as we speak. Their loss and they earned it IMO. |
I am going to be nice about this because it's Thanksgiving. Unless you would like to pay for a membership to visit the site, this is the cost of coming to any site on the internet. Advertising pays for this website and provides revenues that keep this website alive! When anyone is ready to sponsor the website and pay their bills or pay a monthly subscription fee, I am sure they will make you an ad-free version. In the meantime, just remember nothing in the world is free, and you either pay for it through a subscription or via ads. This site costs a lot of money to run and they're not running it out of the kindness of their hearts; it's a business, and there is an incredible amount of overhead involved that a lot of people don't know about. I'm sure you would not work for free, and your business does not give its product away for free, yet you visit this website for free. Nobody likes ads, I don't like ads on television or on my smartphone or streaming either, but that's how the bills get paid, and until people are willing to start paying for the websites and subscriptions, that's how it is. All the people that use ad blockers and browsers that block ads, it won't be long before you're blocked from accessing the content on certain websites, or you might find your favorite websites might disappear if you're not willing to see their ads or pay for a subscription. Nobody Rides For Free. The internet is not free!
