@kerrybh my system has been a slow progression upwards. I started 22 years ago with a 2k system and eventually ended up where I am now. It depends on how important the music is to you and rewarding yourself with what you enjoy. Some guys are happy where they are and I’m happy for them. Some guys are happy spending 3 or 4 times what I spend. But either way for some of us it’s cars and watches for me it’s audio. As long as the person enjoys it then go for it.
What’s the Sweet Spot price point wise in your audio journey?
I ask the question because there are so much gear at vastly different price points. My sweet spot is the 15-30k range. That’s where my speakers, amp, and Dac for the most part sets. There are good things below the prices but there is synergy and price/performance when purchasing audio. For some folks it’s the 5-15 range. It just depends on what you budget is you can fund great stuff all over Audio. Thoughts! No negativity. Just real answers.

@jijoh123 i agree with you. Based on what I have heard and what I have now. 50-75 is truly a great sweet spot for my listening tastes |
Too many great post to +1, but found that research, experimenting with different types of components and speakers, and finding that elusive synergy is where the real value is compared to a dollar amount (as so many have mentioned). Very much in line with what @devinplombier briefly mentioned. And in recognition of this time of the year, being grateful that we have the means, time, and accessibility to great SQ that only a very small portion of society will experience in their homes.
