I agree with the suggestions on the Bach solo violin.  I also would add Christian Tetzlaff.

Still on Bach, there is the great Mass in B Minor.

There is the great version with Karl Richter and the Munich Bach Choir, and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau at the peak of his career.

However, I really line the Pygmalion with Raphael Pichon.  Fischer-Dieskau, but really great choir works.

With all these classical music posts, would anybody like me to revive my thread: “Classical Music for Afficionados?” I dropped it some time ago because of sparse participation. If interested just look up the site and participate.  I’m going to re-create it now.

Underrated and rarely spoken of Emil Gilels is a genius pianist. Rudolf Serkin is another. @rvpiano check out Gilels Beethoven and Mozart sonatas. Incredible. 
I rarely stumble upon a new classical release that impresses me. Thankfully there’s plenty to go thru with the classics. 

My go to favorite violinists are Heifetz and Oistrakh. Acoustic Sounds has a few Heifetz recordings on vinyl from their Analog Productions series. Good stuff.
