A new dac?

@devinplombier  Point is....Since he already has a ’very nice Mytek’ dac, he’s not missing out on a lot whether he flipped to some creme de la creme r2r dac or not...and not with a 1000 dollar budget....

So, might as well get a splendid R2R FIIO for 320 dollars to quench his R2R desires...get it over with (that have been planted in his mind by the forum’s dac specialists), don’t ya think?

It also gave him the budget to get 2 subwoofers....made his experience a whole lot better than pulling teeth, trying to hear the differences on certain types of dacs in a otherwise bottlenecked system/room.

p.s. It's almost like TektEric 'Alexander the great' went to war with your nation and defeated your people or something...the pain is deep, eh?

The Carpathian said he has a nice Mytek DAC. Why would you suggest he replace it with an entry-level FOSI all-in-one headphone amp?

And that’s neither here nor there, but Tekton speakers should be shipped loose, with cabinets pre-crushed for easy disposal upon delivery.

Guys, just want to try something different. As far as subwoofers, the LSA20’s have a fr of 25-30,000 htz. They’re not lacking in bass. I also find them quite resolving for the price. So, if you’ve never heard them I can’t really take anything about them as a valid opinion. What I do need is more power to them. The 75 watts @ 8 ohms Aria isn’t quite cutting it. When I get back to my Florida house, I have an Odyssey Stratos in the closet that I had an extra 88,000 mf’s capacitance added to it. I’ll take it back up to Connecticut with me and use the Aria solely as a preamp. Now that I think about it, I may buy dacs new so I can easily return them if no discernible improvement.

@audphile1 , and everyone else, would also like advice on a half way decent streamer. I know you guys probably only know the higher end stuff, but if anyone was slumming...😄

@thecarpathian budget under $1000 for streamer Bluesound. Or WiiM Ultra. My recommendation would be get the dac first the add a streamer. It’s best to audition these components in your system for at least 2-3 days to get a good feel. Don’t switch back and forth fir a quick A/B.
