Accuphase amplifier choice

@milpai My speakers are 88 db @ 4 ohms, so even less efficient than yours. My A-80 has zero trouble driving them. In fact, it drives them better than my previous Vitus amp which was a behemoth.

@arafiq , I did not realize that. Nevertheless the A-80 seems to be built to handle low impedance loads. But I am worried that for the genres of music I play, the A48s might not be able to handle it.

@dpac996 what is your current amplifier? Do you still have the P-4600 or moved on? I am also thinking that the P-4600 will sound good in my system.

@fire_water you already have a fantastic system. But I know what the SCM100ASLT sounds like. These pulled me into the ATC room at AXPONA 2017. They were playing DaftPunk's "Lose Yourself To Dance" and it was so "groovy". Amazing musical experience more than sound.

@milpai I was so impressed with the P-4600 I ordered the P-7500 as my final standalone amp. Next move will be to Integrated when we downsize house (when all the kiddos are out). I had Simaudio Moon 761 for a year (still love that amp) and was going to go with the 861 as the final monster amp, but was able to pivot to Accuphase to test out the price comparable P-4600 to the 761 and quickly discovered I preferred the Accuphase “sound” so made the move to the P-7500. I think the P-4600 is still available. PM me if interested.

@dpac996 , you still have kids at home - why would the P-7500 be your final standalone amp I wish you a healthy long life.

Congratulations on the P-7500. Would love to see it in your system - if you can post a pic. But thanks for the feedback. I have had high regards for the Moon products. For some reason after reading the user experiences I feel that they are slightly towards the cooler side of neutral. Maybe this is system dependent. But the thing that is common to these 2 brands are the build quality.

milpai, if summer AC bill does not bother you, go Accuphase A class! There is a significant design difference btw A48S and P4600 output stages, A48S is MOSFET based, while P4600 BJT.. I use Class A Accuphase during cold season, and P class in the summer! Overall MOSFET A class amp sounds a bit more transparent for voice, cymbals.. On other hand, P4600 is perfect match to your speakers, and will definitely will give you more fun at high sound levels! 

@milpai thanks. I’m planning on the Accuphase being in service for a long time :) I will update my system - had it up with the 761 and need to repost. I had the Moon 861 V2, 760A, and the 300 series one . The north amps are amazing. More color and soul than the previous moon amps I had.
