Audiophile Tests Every KEF

 Agree on the ls60s.  
 

I find the question addressed interesting  with findings that ring true to me in general.   But like most any single review, just another  set of data points and opinions to toss in the ring.  Not a bad product in the entire KEF line though these days I would say.  Take your pick….unless it’s something else that happens to turn one on. 
 

Blade 2 meta’s……I could live with those.  Ample evidence out there that these may well set the benchmark in objective performance in many rooms out there …if that is something that happens to ring one’s bell.  Oooh, ahh…

I bought 2 KEF speakers when I moved into my new house and was getting into this hobby. R5 and LS50 Meta. I have since moved on from both. They were really solid all arounders, geat dispersion, and generally pleasing at all volumes. However, the mid bass tone was very metallic to my ear. It was unnatural and hard to unhear. I moved on to Spendors that give me that engagement with a richer tone.

I could definitely live with KEF sound, and the higher models look great IMO. I still use the R2C in my HT system.

KEF rolls a solid B. They've been around awhile, but it seems the fairly recent surge ASR puts on measurements (they finally got the uni-q ringing under control also) has had more people consider the brand. I've had at least 1 pair of kef's since the R105/3's so I appreciate their current stability.
