None, if power is the only factor being considered. Perhaps I misunderstood and assumed this was not the OP's sole focus.
A speaker upgrade might well be a wiser course.
In any event, the OP seems to have left the building.
Recommendations for a integrated amp
Lately I have been thinking going integrated from separates. I been interested in an integrated amp so I can keep it simpler with less signal chain. Also am looking for one that has a USB input so I can eliminate my interface as a dac. I am mainly looking SS but is not limited to. My budget is around 4k but I am flexible. This will be powering a pair of Triangle BR03 speakers.
BTW, I currently have a Rotel RC-995 preamp and a Acurus A150 amp with a Focusrite interface as a dac using Tidal on my laptop as a source.
they often do @stuartk not everyone has the issues we do |
@stuartk @parkergetdean Thanks you for opinions on the subject. After doing my research on the matter, I came to realize that the H190 and the H390 have two different topology. The H390 and the H590 are similar but the H190 is different. As with the speakers, the BR03 does sound great at its price point. Still at a budget of 4k, if I upgrade the speakers, I would have to compromise the amp to compensate the the price difference. |
@highend64 are you willing to buy used? Most 2-3 year old impeccable Hegels are at 50% of the MSRP I think I understand your intentions, you want to upgrade BIG, and not slice it up; with an incremental amp and incremental speaker upgrade. It's a tough path, for several reasons but logical, you want to maximize your investment. |
@parkergetdean Either way if the price is right. |
