Two T/7x sufficient? Sub cable connections?

I am seeking advice regarding a subwoofer upgrade.

Base system: Advanced Paris A 12, EverSolo dmp A10, Warfedale Elysiam II, Cardas Clear Reflection cabling.  Sub I'm upgrading is SVS sb 1000 Pro.

Room size is 14 x 24 - mostly hard surfaces.  Acoustic wall treatments not likely to happen.

Listening preferences - jazz, folk-rock, jazzy blues, small ensemble acoustics, electric guitar and some classical.  Not looking for room shaking base, but more for cleaner tighter sound.

I was originally going to purchase an REL T/9x and then shifted my orientation towards getting two subwoofers.  For purposes of cost savings I'm considering two REL T/7x.  I'm seeking opinion as to whether the two 8" subs will be sufficient for my listening space.

Considering Moon Audio Black Dragon sub cabling, but open to other options.

Also, an audio retailer recently told me that the sub cables can be connected directly to the Elysian speaker posts rather than a direct connection to the audio source (amp or streamer).  He conveyed that the option could save on cable length cost and would provide no loss of signal quality.  Do folks see this as a viable option?

The REL's come with a speaker-level cable that can connect to your speaker terminals at the speakers or at your amplifier.  I'd spend my $ on the dual subs and not some fancy RCA cable.

For a 2 channel music system, the speaker cable connections are the best way to go. The equipment I have supports both options. I still use the speaker cables. Here's a really good reference for you. It covers just about anything you'll ever want to know about subwoofers in the context of a 2 channel system.

Interesting no fear amplifier output for fans of -6dB sub-bass woofers.

Safe and secure Spekon but IME a sonically inferior connectivity method.
Huge fan of my Cardas Golden Reference loom. Bluejeans Canare LV-77S XLR from the preamplifier outputs to my two Velodyne Plus subwoofers.

I would go with what the speaker pairing suggestion would be.

If the suggestion is some 7x for the room should be good. My thoughts 💭 are that if you are looking 👀 at a speaker 🔊 upgrade in the near future. Look at what the chart shows for the suggested sub. It’s easier for a better sub to Integrate with a Lesser speaker than it is for a lesser sub to keep up with a higher quality speaker. At the end of the day you’re gonna want two subs. so getting the best sub for you can afford and then saving up for a second will have you way ahead. Hope some of these ideas make sense to you, enjoy the glorious journey!

I would be concerned with too much base between the Wharfdales and the RELs. Have you considered an upgraded SVS dual sub system, or what I prefer the Rythmik F12SE dual sub set up. Both the SVS and Rythmik allow you to limit the subs crossover while the REL tends to focus on blending with the speakers.

Lots of choices. Enjoy.
