Does anyone tried Furutech Alpha 36 or S25 bulk wire. Please share experience.
Do you recommend one of these for rewire of speaker woofer section - aim Is to obtain tight and fast bass.
OCC and Litz wires - Furutech Alfa series, Neotech, Cardas
I would like to upgrade current loudspeaker cables which are OFC type (Van Damme 2 x 4 mm2 LC - OFC total definition directional loudspeaker cable)
aim Is neutral sound, fast tight bass
I would like to know your Impression recommendation about following OCC and litz wires
- Furutech Alfa series - using Alfa OCC copper
Alfa S14 (15 AWG / 2x1.4 mm2), Alfa S25 (13 AWG / 2x2.5 mm2), Alfa 36 (12 AWG / 2x3.3 mm)
does anyone know why Alfa 36 Is cheaper than Alfa S25
- Neotech STDCT 12 Hook Up wire - 12 AWG or 3.3 mm2 UP OCC PTFE
- Kabusa Spiral Voice speaker cable using Cardas 2 x 11.5 AWG ultra pure copper litz wire
I use the Alpha 36 wire. I purchased a 1m length from one of the distributors here in the States & then from China for 80% less & there is NO difference. I was using Monoprice 12/2 originally because of my longest run was 40'. When I connected the Alpha (bare wire) & compared the two, it was a winner by a mile. The clarity & authority the wire brought to my system was worth the trouble of snaking the wire to that channel (left). The right channel was a breeze, just through a wall. I can't emphasize enough to the community from the day of install, what this wire did. Posted here on AG somewhere. If you're going to use banana plugs, I have had positive experience with Viborg copper plugs. |
I ordered some Alpha 36 from Chris at VH Audio and it arrives today. I have some ETI Research banana and spade connectors I’ll be using. My current sc’s are some knock off Nordost cables that have served me well but I believe the Furutech wire will be a little cleaner sounding. We’ll see. I’ll chime back in once I have them up and running. |
@rossb Thanks for the heads up. I’ve heard it can take a bit of a break in but that doesn’t sound too bad if I’m able play a signal 24/7. Looking forward to seeing how the Alpha 36 performs. |
