Puritan vs Synergistic Research power conditioner

Hello,

I was hoping I could get some feedback on a possible change for my system. I'm currently using a SR Powercell 12 UEF, an older unit with the black outlets. Overall I'm happy with it but the Galileo power cord its connected to is only 5FT and with my current set up interferes with speaker positioning. I don't have any other realistic options so I'm considering moving on to another conditioner that allows more flexibility. The Puritan has peaked my interest, but I'm uncertain as to how it performs compared to the Synergistic Research. Has anyone compared the two?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I believe both may be available with return policies (Puritan from Jaguar Audio; Synergistic from The Cable Company). If so, why not simply try them in your system and let your own ears be the judge?

Also you have the option to obtain a longer powercord for the Powercell 12 if that is the major issue.  The Powercon connection can be fitted or retrofitted to many powercords.

Given the cost of a 2M+ Galileo cord makes this prohibitively expensive. Other cords may or may not work but given that the Powercell was designed with SR power cords in mind, its not a path I wish to explore.

I was hoping to get some feedback from users who have owned both and could provide a comparison between the two.

Thank you

Have you considered adding a power strip with a decent power cord between the wall and your Powercell 12.  Essentially, it would be a high-quality extension cord.   Something like this.
