Eye Candy

There used to be a Russian Vacuum Tube Manufacturer called Svetlana.

I had a C-J Premier 11a Tube amp that used 6550 power tubes.  

The Svetlana 6550 tubes would produce a swirling violet/purple plasma inside the tube whilst on.

This Plasma was mesmerizing to watch!!

No other vacuum tube, that I'm aware of, does this!

@toro3 have to agree with you on that vintage receiver look.  My first foray into audio included a Pioneer SX-636.  That beautiful blue tuner display with the blue tuning meters--yes, a classic look with that interactive element (like turntables) as you precisely tune in your favorite FM stations.  

While I haven’t spun vinyl in more than a decade, but  I do remember watching the turntable spinning and being mesmerized by the dots being frozen in place saying that the speed was constant.

Thanks for the McIntosh reference.  For me McIntosh power meters (I know, I know), tubes and Marantz receiver dials.  I also like how my vintage Empire Troubadour table lights up via the arm rest light.
