High current amp search

Hello, so as the title says, I'm looking for a 200+ wats amp (8ohm) that will double it's power down to 2 ohms but importantly also check all the audiophile boxes so strong, articulate, fast bass, smooth resolving mid-range and extended non fatiguing highs. It's proving to be rather difficult because hardly any manufacturers list  output into 2ohms. Budget is around 4000$ so I'm looking at mostly used. Besides something like the Krell FPB 300/400 CX which can be had for that much , what else can be recommended?

PS The Sanders amplifiers are designed to be stable with electrostatic speakers, which routinely can drop to 2 ohms or less

Anyone interested in knowing their speaker's impedance curve should just get one of those devices from Parts Express. For about $100 you can measure the curves of as many speakers as you like. You just need a computer with a USB port. Having this knowledge for only $100 compared to what people are spending on their systems is a no brainer. I think it's called a "DATS".

Dear @lukaszwk   " Have you measured my system? I don't know your credentials but your assumptions are out there at best. My speakers are very well designed and are not THAT difficult to drive. The amp is not going work that hard with them. Also they are very capable of working full range without having to neuter them at 80hz or elsewhere. If you are so compelled to run your speakers that way because of your persistent claim about distortion, have at it. I disagree because I used to do just that, as in high pass my speakers at 70 or 80hz and the system sounded like crap.  ""

I don´t need to  measure your system when your subs has at least 10% THD and if you don't believe me ask that specific spec to the manufactrer. Take a look to different subs manufacturers and look for specs, for example Rel Acoustics ( and many more ) and you can't find out that spec.

Years ago Stereophile reviewed JL Audio sub and J.Atkinson measured around those 10% THD, latter on  the manufacturer ask not publish measures with out approbation of them and STHP just deleted that measure.

I never said that your speakers are not well designed but " only " a trouble in that so high croosover frequency ( 550hz) that per sé develops high IMD and THD no one needs to measure it to know about.

If with HP filter sounds like a " crap " then something was wrong down there.

" You seem to have a hard time accepting that people don't agree with you. "

notreally ,my knowledge level probably is inferior to yours I'm only an audiophile and that´s all.  Trying to help. I can't do it with you then I already posted: fine with me. No bad feelings.

@devinplombier  Any speaker you thought you couldn't live without and came with some nasty impedance dips.....i am sure you could find something better that catered  better to your tastes (sonically) at the same price bracket.

It is always a buyers market.

Deep thinks we should pick / eliminate speakers based on impedance (at least that's what I think he's saying).

Thanks but I'll continue to pick them by sound. And I'll continue to pick amps that can drive them.

Vintage Aragon 4004mkII - Dual Mono, 200 w into 8ohms, 400w into 4 ohm, 800w into 2 ohm.  Designed by Dan D'Agostino who designed Krell.  I have had mine driving Apogee Ribbons for over 30 years.  Perfectly black silent background.  They were several thousand when new - decades ago -  but you can find them for about $800.  Massive current. Dual Toroidal transformers - weighs the same as a VW.
