As for room treatments, short answer is yes. With an asterisk. Had some in the original room. The new room is currently being built (old garage getting converted to livable space). Putting some treatments in the walls (decoupling the drywall from the framing) and working with GIK to add in treatment around the room. It’s still in progress.
DAC upgrade

D’Agostino HD Preamp, M400 amps, Aurender W20 with their Master Clock. Wislson Benesch Resolutions with two REL 32 subs. Great interconnects.
Have a Chord DAVE DAC. It sounds good. Still a little clinical and sterile. Haven’t gone into the world of tubes. I’m an amateur for sure but read a lot of what you all say and am trying to elevate my game. Truly enjoy this hobby and the happiness that music brings. Just learning what the next step might be.

OP: Very nice set-up. When the room is finished, it would be fun to see photos posted to your Virtual System page. Apologies for this off-topic note. You have a lot invested in quality cabling. You might consider a Bricasti M 1 Series II. It offers an excellent balance of musicality w/ dynamics & detail. Like all Bricasti, their build quality is top notch made in MA & they machine just about every part in house, wind their own transformers & have their in house designed PCB’s made directly next door at a specialty shop. Their gear is known for great reliability & upgradability. I’m very pleased with mine. |
