Is bi amping worth it ?

Update :

after asking this forum about bi amping to pull a little more bass out of my speakers.  I became quite intimidated and also it seemed clear I would need to add another two channels of amplifiers to bi amp correctly . I decided to purchase a stereo pair of subwoofers.   Specifically REL 212 .  Beautifully crafted subwoofers.  I was a little worried with the (4) twelve inch speakers in each sub that they would be overpowering ( two drivers and two passive ) but with the high level connection , one to each mono block . These subs fit in perfectly and if they weren’t so large and hard to miss I would swear it’s just a bit more bass coming from my khorns but bass you can hear much clearer and feel a lot.  
 

it has been the perfect addition . Just what I was hoping to accomplish.  So I am totally satisfied with the sound of this system as of today.  I fear that satisfaction won’t last forever as it never does.

I've gone from a single stereo amp to two identical bridged amps twice and both times I thought it was worth it.  Both times I thought it made the mid and upper bass sound more visceral.  I'd describe it as a feeling of increased torque.  It didn't make any significant difference in measured bass extension with sine waves or anything like that.  I'd at least try it if you can do it without wasting a ton of money.  Like many things in this hobby I'm sure it's not universal and sometimes isn't worth it.
