Spotify's HiFi tier could finally be about to launch

I'll believe it when I hear it!  I enjoy their software/interface so I am hoping this rumor is true.   https://www.whathifi.com/news/spotifys-hifi-tier-could-finally-be-about-to-launch

I had Amazon HD years ago and it was disappointing compared to Qobuz.  Maybe their Ultra HD I’d finally worth something, but color me skeptical on Spotify lossless until I hear it.

So Spotify “hi-res” is capped at 24/44.1 and at $11.99/mo. is $1.29/mo. more expensive than Qobuz with an annual subscription.  Nice step in the right direction (finally) but no thanks — not worth carrying another subscription for at least for me.

Another update - not all songs are lossless yet. On the ones that are lossless, it indicates with “<device name> - Lossless” in the Connect. For lossy streams it simply indicates “<device name>“
