??? Would You or Have You Paid A Premium Price For A Component Because Of It's Looks ???

Simple question...
You have several choices for a new component your looking to buy...They all have wonderful sound and all the connections/features you need/want but 1 choice has a certain Je Ne Sais Quoi the others just don't have...Unfortunately that choice also carries a premium price that might cost you at least 15% & as much as 35% more than any of your other options..You have the extra $ so budget isn't the issue..
Have you,or would you go ahead & spend the premium to get that extra bit of pizzazz, knowing it's performance really isn't any better than a less expensive option,or do you follow your brain & opt to save the extra $ & get the choice that performs equally well, just doesn't quite have that something something that makes for an OMG experience even when it's not doing it's job as a music maker?

No ugly gear.  There are too many choices!  I do appreciate the way my systems look.

Anyone who say's look's don't mater is lying to themselves. or lives like a hermit.

I have no interest at all in how something looks.  I have an amp that is currently selling near six figures, but, when it was in my system, I had it facing ass-forward because it is easier to turn off and on that way.  I once went to the dealership and heard a terrific sounding set up and when I asked about the amp driving it, the dealer frowned because I did not even recognize that the amp was something I owned.  I had no idea what it looks like from the front.  I currently run a different amp that is MUCH less pretty forward or backwards (it has a purely utilitarian look).

Sure, after all you are going to be looking at whatever you buy. I would sooner look an aesthetically pleasing TT/Amp/Speakers etc than a plain ugly component.
