Amplifier for MoFi SourcePoint 8 speakers

Looking for an amplifier to drive some new MoFi SourcePoint 8 speakers in my secondary system in my small den. I think I will use the variable volume out of my MSB Discrete DAC with Roon as main listening source and TV audio optical into DAC for movies as second source. Hopefully in the next five years we move into a real house with more space then I would expand this room into a surround sound media room and get three more SourcePoint 8 speakers, used DATASAT RS20i and more amps.

A few of the amplifiers I have thought about:

Pass Labs XA25 - worried this wouldn't give me enough power down the road if we get the larger space for surround sound especially with the 87dB sensitivity of the speakers.

McIntosh MC275 - not sure tube would be the best fit for future surround system and longer movie watching, also concerned with power with 87dB sensitivity.

McIntosh MC152
McIntosh MC312

OP- it seems like you are heading towards a Multichannel type setup. I heard the AGD Gan Amps in a recent audio show and they are very good. I own Pass Amps (Xa25, x150) and they are my reference stereo setup, but for Multichannel?? i would go with AGD Gan as they are small, low heat but very musical and enough power to drive the Mofi sourcepoint 8.. and if I may also suggest for surround amplification, try out the Fosi V3 Monoblock to keep your cost down and just upgrade the internal OP amps if you so desire for better sound improvement

I have a pair of Topping B200 Class-AB monoblock power amps driving my pair of SourcePoint 8 and it sounds absolutely sublime! I have them set for Low Gain and am feeding them with maximum voltage from an RME ADI-2 DAC FS converter. The combination has so much punch and body that I’ve actually stopped hunting for a sub for now (although I am waiting for Rythmik L12 to get back in stock, then I might finally be adding a sub back in.

@chauncy

Having heard the sound signature of all the SP models the ONLY class D amp would recommend is the AGD- they are the real deal.

However the Mac MC312 (currently own and love) would be extremely complimentary to their sound with the right non-McIntosh preamp.

I believe the Mac will bring out the midrange better than the Pass XA30.8 and have more power than the XA25, both or which I have owned.

MC312 for the win.

I'm driving my 888's with an MC-312, and, Anthem AVM 90 processor. For 2-ch I also use a Denafrips PONTUS 15TH R2R DAC.

It sounds fantastic! I was using an MC-152, but briefly saw the power guard led's flash during a listening session, so upgraded to the MC-312.
