Review: Mad Scientist White Magic Interconnects
Allowing the full burn in to complete with my new AC power cord, then I'll remove the previous Mad Scientist's Black magic and install the new Mad Scientist White Magic Interconnects. Could there be an improvement? Not holding my breath. But I read about the new super secret material being used and read a crazy impressed review so, I had to know! Tomorrow I'm putting them in no matter what. Just want to be settled on what this new power cable has done before I move on. Curious? me too

Morning all, I normally don't weigh in on these kinds of discussions but today it struck me I wanted to toss in a thought. Bare in mind I've not played with fancy AC cords to date. So the AC is delivered to the wall socket on a 14\2 wire (typically in Canada) that terminates on the outlet. So in my mind no matter how fancy a cord I plug into that outlet it can't improve anything assuming it's at least equivalent to the 14\2. (for those that don't know that's solid strand copper) So.... Then theoretically if I made AC cords to go from the wall outlet to my equipment assuming I used quality ends on the wire I would not in any way reduce or change the the quality of the electricity that can flow thru that cable compared to what is in the wall. It would be like my equipment is wired directly to the house wiring. So how in fact can any AC cord change the sound (or the electricity flowing thru it) for the better as compared to that? Hmmm as I finish this post I possibly think it should be it's on post to discuss the realities of AC cords. Apologies to the OP if it's a bit off topic. (Although given where the discussion went I feel it's possibly relevant?) E. |
@everhard Yeah this topic has been discussed ad nauseam so won’t discuss why here, but suffice it to say power cables matter a lot. There are plenty of quality cable manufacturers who sell direct and offer generous trial periods, so there’s no excuse not to at least try some and hear for yourself. On the lower end there’s something like the Ice Age Audio Frankencable on up to higher-end cables like Snake River Audio and everything in between so have at it. BTW, glad to hear the Viagra’s working. 😝 |
I bought the Prime version of White Magic rca a couple months back. I like them better than my Driade Flow 808 with Fidelium SC. Tone is very rich and there is greater transparency and space around instruments. Still haven’t gotten to 200 hrs but there was a point where they sounded more mechanical ( I know, I know…I’m not good at describing this stuff). Still need to eventually try Jeff’s interconnects, but these are the best I’ve heard at this price point. |
