Best amp for Sonus Faber

There are a lot of great amps that are highly synergistic with Sonus Faber. I owned Olympica for many years. My personal favorite is Audio Research and one of the ones most recommended. It produces a very musical and natural sound. I have heard them with many other amps. It is what you are going for Luxman produces a very shiny sound... being treble forward... Sonus Faber does a very good job of calming this down. MacIntosh produces a very heavy midrange and bass but is light on the details. If you want a sonic spectacular with holographic imaging, go for Burmeister. 

The new Audio Research I-70 will really make the emotional connection with the music. It is a really musical amp with plenty of detail and soul. Highly recommended. 

@stephenwerner you'd get different answer. I'd like to give a less biased take.

They're a 90dB @2.83V/1m sensitive speaker which means they're not voltage demanding. But if they're like any Olympica model like the II or V, they have impedance swings that can dip down to 2.5 Ohm making them current hungry. SO you need an amplifier that can output current and be stable while doing so. Thankfully your Luxman fits the bill already for that. So, I mean you're good when it comes to amp pairing tbh. So unless the Luxman has a very high output impedance (implying low damping factor) which can alter the frequency response

Why do you ask? what do you hear in your system that is nagging you?

Nice speakers. However, to be of any real help, we need some guidance:

1) what sonic qualities do you prioritize?

2) how big is your room?

3) at what volume do you typically listen?

4) favorite music genres?  Has an impact on dynamics and whether you’re likely to run into dynamic compression based on question 3

5) Budget

6) Feature set must haves.

Otherwise, you’ll get a list of what we bought which may not be suitable at all.

Many SFs are fairly efficient but have a low impedance dip usually in the 200 hz range. An amp that can drive low impedance loads is usually a good choice.  

If you’re after tonal richness, dynamic range, exquisite midrange and outstanding transparency, consider Accuphase E-4000 or E-5000. I own E-650, one of the best decisions I’ve made in my 20+ years of audiophile journey.
