Innuos Zen MK3 tips and tricks

I am purchasing an Innuos Zen MK3 with 1TB.  Will be streaming QoBuz and ripping CDs Qobuz doesn’t have, mostly extras from box sets and live sets.  I will be using the Innuos app controlling the unit from my iPad.  Please share any tips or tricks you’ve learned from running a similar setup.  For example, settings for ripping CDs etc.

@timothy468 Tim, I run a similar set up to yours. Zen MK 3 > uDDC > Denafrips t2. I also run a USB cable out of my Zen MK  3  via streamer out to my Bluesound Node Lan USB input, so as to avoid Bluetooth on the Node. All works great, but I did notice the USB out on the Zen MK 3 can be touchy and the signal will drop if the cables aren’t secured properly, seems the connection port on the Zen is a little bit loose when trying to secure the cables. I’ve heard of this from other Zen MK 3 users, but getting the cables situated properly, all connections work fine. Not sure if this helps you, but it’s been my experience. I can sense your frustration, I’ve been there. Good luck, I would also highly recommend the innuos zen MK 3, it’s a great streamer.

Hi folks, problem is solved.

After a few bruised knuckles, trying to check every connection, and absolutely determining that there is sound output appearing to come out of the streamer I went back to the software.

So, what I have found is that when I tried to set up QoBuz Connect it appears to take over the Innuos Sense app. Even though I had paused the QoBuz app and then even stopped in entirely and closed the app, it still had preemptively taken over the Innuos Sense app - so my Sense songs did not play. Why?

Because when I reopened QC and looked at my current selected song, and then looked at the “selected output” (the DAC) it was muted!

Arrggh.

As soon as it was unmuted in QC all was good.

So be careful to check that your output with QoBuz Connect is not muted so when you go back to just your Innuos library the songs can be heard!

Thanks for sharing.  Glad you’re back up and running right.  I tried using Qobuz Connect with my Zen and it will only play Hi-Res songs.  It sees the non-Hi-Res songs but skips over them.  I contacted Qobuz and Innuos. After trying all of Qobuz’s suggested fixes it Looks like a software glitch with Qobuz.  After spending time and dealing with the frustration I am back to running Qobuz through the Sense app and all is well.  I had similar issues with songs supposedly playing but no sound etc. Switching between the 2 Ops So I will leave well enough alone until a fix is found.

Don’t skimp on ETHERNET CABLES OR USB ,

YOU NEED A LINEAR POWER SUPPLY TO YOUR ROUTER ,DIGITAL IS NOT GROUNDED  I BOUGHT A LINEAR TUBE AUDIO LPS AND COMES WOTH A EXCELLENT DC CABLEB USE A DECENT POWER CORD , AND YOUR ETHERNET HUB , AT MINIMUM A $600 SB-6 ETHERNET HUB ,

GOOD POWER CORDS GIVE YOU MUCH BETTER ISOLATION AND RESOLUTION LINNE CONDITIONER ALSO , I USE A AQ NIAGRA 3000

looking to buy the 5000 soon  though  a upgraded Ethernet hub ,is on my short list.
