Your experience with Thiel 3.6

I kept comming back to this pr! First, I paired them with Krell FPB600 and ML 38s preamp Sony SCD1 MIT magnum speaker cables, Transparent balanced interconnect cable. With this set up I was glad to have the oppurtunity to a have chance to listen to this wonderful pair of Thiel speakers! I just re-acquired my own CS3.6 from my previous buyer after 9 years!well this pair is now mated with Krell KSA 150 SONY XA3ES, Krell HTS pre/pro MIT cables, Balanced IC.. I am telling you this is where I have proven that any of these older model Krells KSA or FPB are the power this speakers need, they will drive he speakers with ease. 150 wpc Class A circuitry actually generating 220wpc into 8ohms and duobles into 4ohms and Thiels impedance deeps down to 2ohms! Krell amps are very stable with this impedance!

I had this one for a few years too! Still one of the best at that price range but needed very good amplification. With its 2nd hand price so low, you need an amp at least 3 times the valve to justify its quality.

I’m going to revive y’all here Perty quicks if any of y’all are active. I have a pair of 3.6 with a classe dr-25 I found that my living room is way too large for them and makes them very anemic and bright. 25x18x16 (LxWxH). I moved them into a. 14x14x14 room now they sound far more balanced with a nice touch of low end (but not too much) thoughts on the two room sizes? I had them 3 feet out from the wall and 8 feet apart in the larger room.

Current 3.6 and 1.5 owner and former 2 2 owner. My 3.6s are my main speakers for critical listening. Bought them new in about 1995. Moved them 5 times. Will never give them up. Listen primarily to jazz and classical. 8’ apart, 9 feet from my old ears with barely any toe in. Source is digital via Roon Nucleus to Cocktail Audio streamer to Gustard R2R DAC to Rogue Audio RP9 preamp (tube magic) to Benchmark AHB2 Amp via Audioquest Mackenzie weave and CV8 speaker cables. Oh and for the sub 27hz sound - B&W DB4S subs x 2. Listening room is about 15 x 25 x 8. Room treatments include corner base traps and front wall acoustic panels. Power treatment with Furman Elite. I will die a happy man with this system. Sadly, no family member to leave to who would appreciate it.
