August 12 1877 Thomas Edison invents the phonograph. Still going….145 years.
Not really today is the anniversary of the gramophone not the flat disc.
Berliner also in vented the microphone.

Flat disc vs cylinders. Was this audios first format war??
The Disc's were much more fun for comedians than the cylinders back then. Smash! LOL
Well the album jackets and storage worked out a lot better than the cylinder.
