Revox A77 mk2

Have a problem with noisy capstan bearing in a Revox A77.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Replace the bearing? Actually, you might want an expert to fully service it, that's a great machine.

I've already replaced bearings several time over the 50+ years I've had the Revox. My source of replacements may not be the best. If anyone has had good experience acquiring "quiet" bearings, I'd appreciate to know the correct p/n and source.

@cwz have you tried rebuilding them? I've had a number of Ampex, Revox, Magnacord and other machines with noisy bearings but I've never had to replace one of them; I simply made sure they were properly lubricated.

Thanks atmasphere!

Good suggestion! I've thought of that also but didn't know what type/weight of lubricant to use! I assume one can pry out the covers and press lube into the bearing similar to repacking a wheel bearing on my old vintage Porsche!!
